Located at 526 W Friar Tuck Lane in Sherwood Forest, the $16.5 million home offers five bedrooms, six full and three half bathrooms, 1000+ bottle wine cellar, resort-style pool, loggia, summer kitchen, putting green and herb garden.
The European-style villa owned by Houston restaurateur Johnny Carrabba is still available for purchase after more than a year on the market and a $2 million price cut.
Located at 526 W Friar Tuck Lane in the Sherwood Forest subdivision, Carrabba's home was first listed in 2018 for $18,950,000, the Chronicle reported. It's now up for grabs with an asking price of $16,500,000.
Spanning more than 13,836 square feet, the jaw-dropping property offers five bedrooms, six full and three half bathrooms, 1000+ bottle wine cellar, stunning reception hall with soaring ceilings, chef's kitchen and sunken onyx-clad bar, according to a listing on the Houston Association of Realtors. Interior features include clerestory windows, walnut floors, a limestone fireplace and vaulted brick ceilings.
Designed for entertaining, the estate's resort-like backyard includes a pool and spa, loggia, summer kitchen with pizza oven, putting green, herb garden and oversized dog run. The perimeter of the backyard is surrounded by manicured Western Red River Cedar trees and is mosquito-controlled.
Harris County Appraisal District records show the home was constructed in 2016. Walter Bering with Martha Turner Sotheby's International Realty holds the listing.
Carrabba co-founded the wildly popular Italian chain Carrabba's and opened its first Houston location in 1986 off Kirby Drive. The lucrative brand now has locations across the country. Carrabba also has hands in various Houston-area restaurants including Mia's restaurants, Common Bond Cafe & Bakery and Grace's.
