The Roaring Twenties was an age of economic prosperity, but also introduced society to flappers and F. Scott Fitzgerald. Prohibition was in full effect and the Great War had just ended.
It was a glorious time to be alive in the United States and specifically in Houston, where in 1928 city officials hosted the Democratic National Convention and Jesse H. Jones, an entrepreneur, constructed the Houston Chronicle building.
Several new buildings, many that still stand today, were erected in the 1920s and Houston life flourished in unison with the country.
